Tickets for High Point University men's and women's basketball games are now on sale on the web. The men's basketball team opens with an exhibition game on Tuesday before its regular-season opener against UNC Pembroke on Saturday, Nov. 14 at the Millis Center. The women's basketball team opens the season against Navy on Nov. 13 and plays its home opener against UNC Greensboro on Nov. 21. Season tickets start at $80.

The HPU men's basketball team enters its first season under head coach
Scott Cherry and his new staff in 2009-10. HPU returns four of five starters and 80 percent of its scoring from last season. Senior center
Cruz Daniels and senior guard
Eugene Harris have each played in 103 career games entering this season. Daniels has led the Big South in blocks in each of the last two seasons. Harris has scored over 12 points per game in the last two seasons and enters this season just nine points shy of 1000 for his career. The Panthers also have Preseason All-Big South selection
Nick Barbour, who led HPU with 14.2 points per game last season.
The High Point women's basketball team was voted co-No. 1 in the Big South Preseason Poll and returns a pair of Preseason All-Big South selections –
Jurica Hargraves and
Mackenzie Maier – and the 2008-09 Big South Rookie of the Year,
Shamia Brown. Hargraves is the Big South Preseason Player of the Year after leading HPU with 13.5 points per game last year. Brown averaged 11.2 points and 5.9 rebounds and Maier averaged 11.1 points and 5.6 rebounds.
