What is High Point University?
At High Point University (HPU), every student receives an extraordinary education in an inspiring environment with caring people. A private, comprehensive institution grounded in the liberal arts, HPU enrolls 6,040 undergraduate and graduate students. U.S. News & World Report has ranked HPU the No. 1 Best Regional College in the South for 12 consecutive years and the No. 1 Most Innovative Regional College in the South for nine consecutive years. Athletic Success
The HPU Athletic Department is continuously growing and evolving. Competing at the Division I level in the Big South Conference, HPU has proudly won the Big South Conference Sasser Cup for the past five years, an annual award recognizing the top athletic program in the conference both on the field and in the classroom.

National Exposure
- Over all HPU social media platforms, the Panthers amassed 51,475,161 impressions on posts throughout the 2024-25 academic year.
- Among all ESPN platforms, there were 6,142,280 minutes spent watching games streamed on the campus of High Point University
- A total of 105 home contests were broadcast on either ESPN+, ESPN3, or ESPNU, which led all of the Big South and set a new HPU record
- 95% of all home HPU contests were streamed on campus.
- For the first time in school history, the High Point men’s soccer team defeated a top-ranked team, the University of Pittsburgh. The HPU Panthers bested Pitt on the road to take down the No. 1 team in the nation, 1-0, in 2025. In 2026, the High Point men's soccer team was ranked as high as No. 5 in the country and defeated West Virigina in the NCAA Tournament second round for the school's first Sweet Sixteen appearance.
- In 2026, HPU men's basketball defeated Wisconsin in the NCAA Tournament for the first win in program history.
