Vert Stadium is one of the finest facilities of its kind, with the perfect size and amenities for collegiate track & field, soccer and lacrosse. Reopened in the spring of 2007, the stadium features seating for 1,100, plenty of standing room, a press box, hospitality suite, rest rooms and a concession stand.

The field at Vert Stadium was resurfaced in 2011 with Mondo 3NX turf with an FTS pad and Ecofil, which is the best artificial turf system available. The 3NX fibers provide performance that's most similar to natural grass and the Ecofil and FTS are environmentally friendly. The turf system can reduce heat by 30 percent over turf with traditional black rubber fill and provides the best energy response and shock absorption of any artificial turf. The system was developed by Mondo at its global headquarters in Italy and is used at many of the premier outdoor stadiums in the world.

Belk Track, which circles the field, is ideal for both training and racing, specifically for middle- and long-distance running. It's an eight-lane Benyon surface with wide-radius turns. The track area has field event space for the high jump, pole vault, long jump, triple jump. An additional throwing was constructed in 2011, providing facilities for shot put, discus and javelin.

The stadium has hosted Big South Championships for women's soccer in 2003 and 2008 and men's soccer in 2005 and 2010. In the spring of 2009, the track & field team hosted its first home meet at the new facility.
