Millis Center
Opened in 1992, the Millis Center is considered one of the best facilities for men's and women's basketball and volleyball in the Big South. It has been host of the Big South Women's Basketball Tournament three times and will host again in 2010, and was also host of the first two rounds of the 2004 Big South Men's Basketball Tournament. HPU has hosted the Big South Volleyball Tournament at the Millis Center twice. President George W. Bush visited HPU and spoke in the Millis Center in July 2002. Often host of regionally-televised men's and women's basketball games, the Millis Center recently underwent a major renovation that included a new floor, seating, the addition of four state-of-the-art video boards and a new sound system. The Millis Center also houses offices for men's and women's basketball, volleyball, men's and women's golf, a swimming pool and HPU's athletic training and strength & conditioning areas.
