The High Point University Cheerleaders are an all-female squad comprised of approximately 16 members. The squad cheers at all men's and women's home basketball games as well as various other athletic events. Members also take part in numerous community service activities throughout the year. In addition, members of the cheerleading squad travel with the men's and women's basketball teams to the Big South Tournament, as well as any addition postseason tournaments. Squad members practice twice weekly from September through the end of basketball season.
Head coach Alicia Balado joined HPU in 2010 and brings over 20 years of competitive cheerleading experience. She was an NCA All-America selection as a cheerleader, and has coached elite cheerleaders of all levels.
