Lomas selected with the 16th pick in NLL Draft

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Former High Point University men's lacrosse attackman Dan Lomas was taken by the Rochester Knighthawks with the 16th pick of the National Lacrosse League Draft on Monday night.

The Burlington, Ontario native finished his career at HPU with a program-record 159 goals. The lefty scored at least 36 goals in each of his four seasons with the Panthers and holds the top four single season goal-scoring marks in the program's history.

"We couldn't be happier for both Dan and his family," head coach Jon Torpey said. "Rochester got an amazing player, person and one of the most competitive people I have ever met. Dan is going to have an incredible career in the NLL and our entire HPU family is excited to continue to watch him dominate."

Lomas was a four-year captain and a three-time USILA All-American while leading HPU to its first-ever NCAA Tournament berth in 2015. He's second all-time in career points (183) at HPU and claimed two conference offensive player of the year awards.

In January, the Ohio Machine drafted Lomas in the fourth round of the Major League Lacrosse Draft.
