Kaylah Keys of the High Point University women's basketball team has been named the Big South Conference Freshman of the Week for the second consecutive week, the league announced on Monday. Keys averaged 19.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 4.0 assists in two games last week.
Keys helped High Point open Big South Conference play with a win over Longwood on Friday. She scored a game-high 23 points to go along with career-highs in rebounds (8) and assists (5). She shot 7-of-10 from the floor and was a perfect 6-of-6 from the free-throw line in the 68-54 victory. She also scored 16 points to go with three assists and two steals against Furman.
This is the second consecutive Big South Freshman of the Week honor for Keys, who took home the accolade last week after dropping a career-high 25 points at UNC Greensboro.
Keys leads all freshman in the conference with 14 points per game this season. She is also averaging 3.1 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game during her rookie campaign.
