FINAL RESULTS
The High Point University men's golf team shot a combined 301 in the third and final round of the Joe Agee Invitational at the Colonial Heritage Golf Club on Tuesday to finish in third place out of 13 teams with a total team score of 899.
“The golf course played tougher today and we struggled with that,” head coach #J.B. White# said. “The wind was really gusty out there but I was excited about how we were able to rise above that in the end. We are all really looking forward to the next tournament. We have a few things we need to work on but we will get back to practice and get those ironed out.”

Chase Wilson turned in the best individual scores of the day for HPU with identical rounds of two-over 74. Wilson was High Point's top finisher, ending the tournament in a tie for seventh with a 54-hole score of 222.
Charles Valluzzo carded a third-round 77 and finished three strokes back of Wilson in a tie for 12th with a score of 225. McLellan's 74 moved him into a tie for 17th with a score of 227 along with fellow senior
Curtis Brotherton who shot a 76 in the final round. Junior
Andrew Fisher struggled on the day, firing an 88 to finish tied for 56th with a three-day score of 242.
Longwood maintained its lead in the team standings with a third-round 293 to finish at 871 for the tournament. Old Dominion shot a combined 297 to jump into second place with a team score of 897, two strokes better than HPU. Towson shot 306 in the third round and finished in fourth with a score of 905 while Bucknell had the best team round of the day with a 291 to move into fifth with a three-round total of 909.
Austin Gray remained atop the individual standings with a 54-hole score of 217 after carding a 75 in the final round. Gray finished one stroke ahead of William & Mary's Jeremy Wells who finished in second with a three-round score of 218 after shooting a 73 in the third and final round.
The Panthers will return to competition in two weeks when they head to Morganton, N.C. to play in the Donald Ross Intercollegiate. The two-day tournament will be hosted by Appalachian State and will begin on Oct. 17.
