Panthers add Tremblay to 2010-11 women's basketball class

High Point University head women's basketball coach Tooey Loy announced today the signing of point guard Tayler Tremblay to a National Letter of Intent.

Tremblay is the third player to sign onto the Class of 2010, joining forward/center Cheyenne Parker and guard Carter Williams who both signed during November's early signing period.

“Taylor is a very gifted point guard that can take over a game with both her passing and scoring ability,” Loy said. “We are very pleased to have such a great player and person joining our program.”

Tremblay played five seasons at Saint Andrew's High School in Boca Raton, Fla. In her senior season, Tremblay averaged 23.3 points, 6.3 assists and 3.2 steals per game while leading her prep team to a 20-5 record. She was the leading scorer in Palm Beach County during her senior season and was named Palm Beach Player of the Year and a McDonald's All-American Nominee. In her five-year career Tremblay accumulated 1,612 points and 710 assists.

High Point finished 17-14 on the season with a 9-7 mark in the Big South. The 17 wins are the most for HPU since the 2006-07 season when the team went 18-12. The Panthers return four starters next season and seven of their top eight scorers.
