Women's soccer conducts free clinic with Archdale YMCA

The High Point University women's soccer team conducted a free clinic for the Archdale Trinity YMCA youth soccer program on Saturday, Feb. 27. Approximately 100 kids showed up to learn from the defending Big South champions.

“It was a very successful weekend,” assistant coach Brandi Fontaine said. “This was a great way for our team to get out and get involved in the community. Clinics like this help to remind our players that soccer is more than a game to these kids. It is about having fun and being part of a team. It is very important for us to reach out to the people here in High Point. This helps teach the girls about the importance of giving back to the community.”

The Panthers worked with the young players on several different soccer skills including passing, receiving and dribbling and also worked to improve their speed and agility.

“We would like to thank David Pollock, the director of the Archdale YMCA, for helping us to put together this free clinic,” Fontaine said. “We hope this is the beginning of a long relationship between our team and the YMCA.”
