DAY ONE RESULTS
The High Point University women's golf team finished the first day of the Winthrop Intercollegiate in eighth place out of 12 teams with a combined team score of 680 through two rounds on Monday in Rock Hill, S.C. Senior
Lisa Chandler finished the day in 32nd place with a two-round total of 168.
Freshman
Audra McShane shot a team-best 81 in the first round and followed it with a score of 89 in the second round to finish the day in a tie for 39th with a total score of 170. Freshman
Jessica Neese mirrored McShane shooting an opening round 89 and a second round 81 to also finish in 39th with a total score of 170. Freshman
Kristina Wagner finished two strokes back of McShane and Neese in a tie for 44th place. Wagner opened the day with an 85 before shooting 87 through the second 18. Freshman
Danielle Lamy shot 96 and 91 in her two rounds to finish in a tie for 61st with a two-round total of 187.
Belmont Abbey finished atop the team standings with a combined score of 632 after two rounds. The Knights lead by eight strokes over Princeton which is currently in second place. Xavier ended day one in third, just one stroke behind the Tigers with a team score of 641 and host Winthrop is just one stroke back in fourth. Gardner-Webb rounds out the top five with a total two-round score of 647.
Princeton's Anna Jung leads the individual standings with a 36-hole score of 153. She leads Belmont Abbey's Meagan Wallace by just one stroke and both Rachel Smith of Winthrop and Carley Warrington of Belmont Abbey by two.
The Panthers will return to the Rock Hill Country Club on Tuesday for the third and final round of the Winthrop Intercollegiate. The day will begin with a shotgun start at 9:30 a.m.
