HPU to support charities at this week's home events

High Point University Athletics will be supporting National Hunger Awareness Month, Compete for the Cause for Breast Cancer and Coach to Cure Muscular Dystrophy at Panther home events this week. The men’s and women’s soccer teams and the volleyball team will have promotions and giveaways at this weekend’s games to support the charities.
Tuesday, Sept. 22: Men’s Soccer vs. Davidson, 7 p.m.
Panthers For The Cause – High Point University will be partnering with Helping Hands and Domino’s Pizza in an effort to reduce hunger during the National Hunger Awareness Month. All fans who drop off canned goods at the entrance to the Vert Track and Soccer Stadium will receive a free menu item from Domino’s Pizza. Domino’s Pizza will also host a Pizza Eating Contest at halftime.
Thursday, Sept. 24: Women’s Soccer vs. Belmont, 7 p.m.
Compete For The Cause – The High Point University women’s soccer team will “Compete For The Cause” and raise awareness for Breast Cancer. Official “Compete For The Cause” T-Shirts will be sold for $5 at the game. All proceeds and donations will be donated to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
Saturday, Sept. 26: Volleyball vs. Winthrop, 2 p.m.
Dig For The Cure – The High Point University volleyball team will “Compete For The Cause” on Saturday afternoon at 2 PM. Fans will have the opportunity to pledge per dig, or make a flat donation. Official “Compete For The Cause” t-shirts will be sold at the game for $5. All proceeds and donations will be donated to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
Saturday, Sept. 26: Men’s Soccer vs. East Tennessee State, 7 p.m.
Coach To Cure MD – The Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity will host Coach To Cure Muscular Dystrophy on Saturday night, Sept. 26. The Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity will host a tailgate beginning at 4:30 PM in front of Vert Track and Soccer Stadium. Hamburgers will be sold for $2 and hotdogs for $1. Every fan that participates will receive complimentary ThunderStix.
