HIGH POINT, N.C. — High Point University Women's Golf Head Coach Lyndsey Hunnell announced the hiring of Anna Redding as the Panthers' new assistant coach on June 1, 2024.
"I'm so excited for Anna to be joining our program!" Hunnell said. "She had an incredible collegiate and professional career, and she knows what it takes to prepare and win. Her knowledge and work ethic is going to elevate our team. I'm excited to get started with her and help build another record-breaking season."
Redding, a native of Concord, N.C., played golf for the University of Virginia from 2015-19. During her time at UVA, Redding was awarded Rookie of the Year in 2016 and was twice named the Virginia Sports Information Directors Player of the Year. To cap her successful collegiate career, Redding became the third golfer in program history to be named All-ACC Academic Team for four consecutive years.
After graduation, Redding developed AB Golf, Inc. as a platform to play professional golf. Redding has played full seasons on the Epson Tour in 2020 and 2021. Additionally, she played in the first ever ANWA in college and also she won the Epson Community Achievement Award while she was pro. Redding participated in a partial season in 2022 before returning for a full season in 2023.
"I am honored to be joining the High Point Women's Golf program," Redding said. "Coach Hunnell has made an impressive impact during her first two seasons as Head Coach. I look forward to this transition into coaching, learning from Coach Hunnell, and pursuing the team's first conference championship!"
Off the course, Redding has established a Birdies for Babies fundraiser for underprivileged children and hopes to inspire young female athletes to pursue a pro-golf career.
