Head coach
Marty Beall announced the addition of defender
Meghan Krasnow to the High Point University women's soccer team on Wednesday. Krasnow, a redshirt-freshman defender, comes to High Point after spending last season at the University of Louisville.
“We are very excited that Meghan will be joining our women's soccer family here at HPU. She brings a wealth of experience and we are thrilled to have another player join our program from the Raleigh area. It is important to us that we bring in top level players from North Carolina and we feel that Meghan fits that mold.”
Prior to her time at Louisville, Krasnow was a four-year letterwinner at Cardinal Gibbons High School. She was a member of the 2007 2A North Carolina State Championship and four conference championship squads. Krasnow earned All-State, All-Region and All-Conference honors and was named both Conference and Region Player of the Year honors in her senior season. The Raleigh, N.C., native played club soccer with Triangle Futbol Club and CASL and was a member of the North Carolina State ODP.
“I am really excited to join the High Point University women's soccer team,” said Krasnow. “The coaches at HPU are great and the school is really amazing. I look forward to contributing to the team and helping it win its second straight conference championship.”
The Panthers return six starters from the team which won the Big South Tournament and earned a bid to the NCAA Women's Soccer Championship for the third time since 2003. HPU lost to eventual NCAA Champion North Carolina, 1-0, in the first round of the NCAA tournament, its closest loss in three tries against the Tar Heels.
